BOFINET ASSUMES CHAIRMANSHIP OF SATA FOR 2024/25

Botswana Fibre Networks (BoFiNet) hosted of the Southern Africa Telecommunications Association (SATA)’s 44th Annual Conference, from April 24th to April 26th, 2024, in Kasane. The conference was officially opened by Mr. Cecil Masiga, the Deputy Permanent Secretary- ICT in the Ministry of Communications, Knowledge, and Technology on behalf of Honorable Thulagano Segokgo, Minister of Communications, Knowledge & Technology. At that same conference, BoFiNet was given the responsibility of chairing the next SATA membership.

 

BoFiNet's appointment to the Chairmanship of SATA highlights its leadership and influence in the telecommunications industry in the region. With a track record of excellence and a commitment to advancing connectivity and digital transformation, BoFiNet is positioned to lead significant projects that will benefit not just SATA member organisations but also the larger regional community. In assuming the Chairmanship, BoFiNet reaffirms its dedication to promoting collaboration and cooperation among industry stakeholders, advocating for policies that encourage innovation and inclusivity, and leading initiatives to close the digital divide in Southern Africa.

Under BoFiNet's leadership, SATA will continue its mission of promoting the development of robust and inclusive telecommunications ecosystems, facilitating knowledge sharing, capacity building initiatives, and advocating for policies that support the growth of the telecommunication industry.
