Mr. Mpho Koolese oversees BoFiNet’s national and international network assets.
He started his career at Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) in the planning department, where he rose through various levels to ultimately being the Acting Head of Innovation and Technical Support. Through his intensive work in optical networks, he is one of the pioneers of the East African Submarine System (EASSy) and West Africa Cable System (WACS) submarine cables, where he currently sits on the management committees.
Mr. Koolese joined BoFiNet in 2013 as Chief Engineer Technology Planning, where he was tasked with the organisation’s network development. He has over 19 years of managerial experience in the field of technology planning and operations. Mr. Koolese has studied and attained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Botswana, a Management Development Programme from the University of Stellenbosch, and a master’s in strategic management from the University of Derby.
Mr. Keabetswe Segole has over twenty (20) years’ experience in the ICT industry, sixteen (16) of which were at executive levels within various organisations. Prior to joining BoFINet, he worked for Botswana Telecommunications Corporation and Orange Botswana as Group General Manager for Technology and Chief Technical Officer, respectively. In both organisations, he delivered key strategic projects and exemplified leadership qualities, and as a result, he was assigned special responsibilities. Mr Segole is an alumnus of Lakehead University, University of Sunderland, and the University of South Wales. He is also an alumnus of the University of Stellenbosch Executive Development Programme through the University of Stellenbosch Business School. Additionally, he is a certified PRINCE2® Practitioner.
He is currently serving as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Legal Aid Botswana, an organisation that provides legal advice, representation, and legal education to indigents.
Mr Diphetogo Lefhoko’s career spans over 15 years in various industries, including; mining, government infrastructure projects, and in business resilience. His experience with developing and managing ICT recovery and production solutions for Botswana market dates back to 2012, when he joined ContinuitySA as Data Centre Infrastructure Technician and later rose to the rank of Country Manager, responsible for the overall business objective and growth. Mr. Lefhoko joined BoFiNet in 2021 and immediately kickstarted the development and successful implementation of the Digital Delta Data Centre Go-to-Market strategy. He also formed part of the Project Management team responsible for delivering the data centre project and kickstarting operations.
Some of his notable achievements include publishing several newspaper and online articles on risk and resilience, which include, “Business risks that Botswana faces in 2019” (published on 20/02/2019) and “What resilience lessons can we learn from COVID-19?” (published on 23/08/2020) and was later featured by Botswana Stock Exchange magazine of October - December 2020 issue. Further to the media articles above, Mr. Lefhoko also presented in several conferences, including, the IRMSA Annual Digital Conference that took place in 30/09/2020, titled, “Resilience in times of uncertainty – Lessons learnt with focus on the Africa Continent.” He is a holder of a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Newcastle, Australia and is a Certified Data Centre Design Professional and an Accredited Operations Specialists.
