Mr. Mpho Koolese oversees BoFiNet’s national and international network assets.
He started his career at Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) in the planning department, where he rose through various levels to ultimately being the Acting Head of Innovation and Technical Support. Through his intensive work in optical networks, he is one of the pioneers of the East African Submarine System (EASSy) and West Africa Cable System (WACS) submarine cables, where he currently sits on the management committees.
Mr. Koolese joined BoFiNet in 2013 as Chief Engineer Technology Planning, where he was tasked with the organisation’s network development. He has over 19 years of managerial experience in the field of technology planning and operations. Mr. Koolese has studied and attained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Botswana, a Management Development Programme from the University of Stellenbosch, and a master’s in strategic management from the University of Derby.
Mr. Edwin Moloi joined BoFiNet on August 2013 and has been Acting Corporate Services Executive at BoFiNet since 1st May 2023. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Moloi is a key contributor to the achievement of BoFiNet's strategic and operational objectives in the most efficient and effective manner.
In his capacity, Mr. Moloi is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of Human Resources, Finance and Supply Chain strategies, policies and procedures in line with the organisational strategy. He leads cross-functional teams and drives organisational change to strategically adapt to the rapidly-changing environmental demands within the ICT sector.
With an extensive career spanning over 24 years in the telecommunications industry, he played a key role in the establishment of BoFiNet. He has served in various disciplines including financial management, supply chain management, investment appraisal and project accounting. Prior to his tenure at BoFiNet, Mr. Moloi worked for Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) as a Finance Manager where he provided invaluable guidance to the Government on Botswana’s investments in the EASSy and WACS undersea cable systems. Additionally, he contributed his financial acumen and commercial expertise to the BTC privatisation project as a finance appointee.
Mr. Moloi holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accountancy) degree from the University of Botswana and possesses certifications in Supply Chain Management Revenue Assurance and completed various technical and leadership courses, enhancing his skills and capabilities in his field.
Mr. Keabetswe Segole has over twenty (20) years’ experience in the ICT industry, sixteen (16) of which were at executive levels within various organisations. Prior to joining BoFINet, he worked for Botswana Telecommunications Corporation and Orange Botswana as Group General Manager for Technology and Chief Technical Officer, respectively. In both organisations, he delivered key strategic projects and exemplified leadership qualities, and as a result, he was assigned special responsibilities. Mr Segole is an alumnus of Lakehead University, University of Sunderland, and the University of South Wales. He is also an alumnus of the University of Stellenbosch Executive Development Programme through the University of Stellenbosch Business School. Additionally, he is a certified PRINCE2® Practitioner.
He is currently serving as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Legal Aid Botswana, an organisation that provides legal advice, representation, and legal education to indigents.
